Sarah Landry

Hi! My name is Sarah Landry. I am the founder of Talk Blossom. I provide play based speech and language therapy as well as run the “behind the scenes” part of the business. I’ve always had a love of early intervention- not only do I get to help children improve their communication skills, but I get to play while doing it! I’m always amazed at all the skills that tiny people can learn…all while having fun.

I obtained a Master's degree in Communicative Disorders and hold and maintain the Clinical Competence Credential from ASHA (American Speech-Hearing Association) as well as an Idaho State License in Speech-Language Pathology. I have a passion for early intervention and constantly stay informed regarding new and pertinent therapy approaches. I have 20 years of experience in the field.

I understand that therapy works best when paired with parent involvement. By working with children and their families, I am able to help parents/caregivers develop a deeper understanding of their child's struggles. One of my greatest joys is to help parents and their children ease the day to day frustrations due to lack of communication.

Some of my other joys include spending time with my husband, 15 year old son and our labradoodle. We love spending time outdoors: gardening, biking, snowshoeing and playing by the river. I’d also consider myself mildly crafty and a foodie to my core!

Makenzi Walsh

Hi! My name is Makenzi Walsh. I’ve been with Talk Blossom since 2020 and have a passion for working with children and their families to promote communication development through play and a neurodiversity affirming approach. My goal with each session is to meet parents and children where they’re at to work collaboratively toward our goals. I strongly believe in the power of play based therapy and strive to make every therapy session fun for the child and informative for the caregiver(s).

While I am a Boise native, I obtained both my bachelor's and master's degree in Communication Sciences & Disorders from the University of Oregon. My passion for working with children and their caregivers began in graduate school and has only flourished since. I have a particular interest in treating early language, speech sound disorders, and feeding related to oral aversion, picky eating, and difficulty transitioning to solids in infants.

Outside of work, I enjoy being outdoors (biking, boating, playing with my pup), spending quality time with friends & family, and trying my hand at DIY projects.

Heather Ybarlucea

Hi, I'm Heather! I'm an Idaho native and have lived all over the state, but have been in the Treasure Valley since 2008. My entire career as a speech therapist has been spent with young children doing early intervention in clinic, home, daycare, preschool, and other natural environments. I enjoy working with your whole family to build your skills and confidence in helping your child learn and use language.

I received my Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from Idaho State University. My Bachelor's degree in Psychology is from the University of Idaho. I am licensed as a speech-language pathologist in Idaho and hold the Certificate of Clinical Competence from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association. I have served on the executive board of the Idaho Speech, Language, Hearing Association since 2018.

I have completed extensive continuing education in the early identification and treatment of autism and am a trained Autism Navigator provider in the Boise/Meridian area. I have education and treatment practice in gestalt language processing, a very common way that autistic children learn and use language. I also specialize in late language emergence (late talkers) and have completed Hanen training It Takes Two to Talk. I am neurodiversity-affirming in my treatment approach for all patients and use strengths-based approaches to build on the skills your child already possesses.

When not working, I enjoy spending time reading, traveling, and always seem to come up with more projects to complete around the house.

Shannon Roybal

Nice to meet you, I'm Shannon! I have been proudly working for Talk Blossom since 2023. I am a Montana native, and I obtained my Bachelor's degree from the University of Montana (Go Griz!). I graduated with my Master's degree from Idaho State University with a focus on early intervention, early language, and auditory skill and spoken language development for children with hearing loss. I am a licensed Speech Pathologist in the state of Idaho, and I hold the Certificate of Clinical Competence from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association.

I believe in the power of play as a natural and effective way to engage children in therapy sessions. I enjoy collaborating with families to support communication and connection, and I am always seeking out ways to understand my clients better. I have experience working with a wide range of clients, from young toddlers to adolescents, with tailored treatment programs to address speech and language delay, speech sound disorders, stuttering, auditory skill development, social language use, picky eating and oral aversion, and more. My goal is not only to help children make progress in development, but also to provide strong family support to help children thrive!

Outside of speech therapy, I like embracing life's simple joys, which include, but are not limited to: dining on outdoor restaurant patios in 75-degree weather, watching romantic comedy movies from the 90s, thrift shopping, and eating good pasta salad.
